Kirchdorf is known to many of us as a place on the way south.
Already in Roman times Kirchdorf was an important place of transit and has remained so until today.

The prosperity of the market was based on crafts and trade. After the great fire of 1877, many of the magnificent merchant houses were destroyed, but even in our time, the wealth is still noticeable. Today, the region around Kirchdorf is one of Upper Austria's regions of pleasure. Schlierbach cheese is well known, but there is much more to discover.
