Why Guck Naz?
Today, Ludwig Lirscher (1878-1955), who lived in Großraming, would be called a "genuine original." The cheeky postman was often already on his way early in the morning to one of the surrounding peaks to watch the sunrise from there. For this, he fixed his "Gucka" on a tripod. At the sight of the red rising sun, the "Watching Naz" was said to have nearly gone into ecstasy and sent a loud "Yippee" down into the valley out of happiness. Afterward, he hurried down to the valley to deliver mail on foot over mountains and valleys in all kinds of weather. He covered countless kilometers on his way to Oberplaißa, Hintstein, or Brunnbach.
It was not uncommon for Guck Naz to ask for a just-delivered postcard he was still missing in his collection. And for numerous weddings in Großraming, he would invite himself with a humorous poem for the bridal couple.
Even today, lively stories and anecdotes are told about this modest and devout mountaineer.
