1. Austrian Christmas Museum with Experience Train

Antique Christmas tree decorations 1830 - 1945 from the collection Elfriede Kreuzberger & Christkindl train

Incredible 14,000 pieces of Christmas decorations – antique ornaments made of glass, porcelain, metal, cardboard, or paper – were lovingly decorated by collector Elfriede Kreuzberger. The Kreuzberger collection is the largest private collection in the world with 18,200 items (counted in 2005), exhibited in the "former Bürgerspital" in the Steyrdorf district.

Steyrer Stubn on the ground floor: 200 dollhouse dolls and dollhouses, tea dolls, and doll toys from past years. 

A special attraction is the ride on the experience train. Securely fastened in armchairs, the journey through the Advent season begins – passing show booths. Dolls in the ground floor display the Christmas traditions of Austria, while on the first floor, customs from many countries around the world are shown. 
The highlight is the angels' workshop under the roof, where hundreds of little angels prepare for Christmas.

In the museum shop, small gifts such as little angels, books, and award-winning
chocolate specialties from the company Bachhalm await. To warm up, there is the Christkindl punch.

For individual guests, no advance reservation is required or possible for the visit to the Christmas museum or the experience train; they can visit the Christmas museum anytime during opening hours!

Guided Tours
Guided tours in the Christmas museum are possible year-round with prior registration at the tourism information Steyr! During Advent, only outside regular opening hours.
(Train rides in the museum are possible only during Advent. The train does not operate during the year.)
