The unique ambience of the Christkindlstadt Steyr at Christmas time is emphasised by the atmospheric Advent market "Altstadt Steyr" on the historic town square.

‘Glowing, ringing and enjoyable around the Leopoldi Fountain’ is the motto of the idyllic Advent village on the town square, where the Steyr Christkindl, St. Nicholas and the Steyr night watchmen meet after their work is done between blacksmith demonstrations and traditional Advent blowing.
A special highlight is the Advent brass band blowing from the town hall balcony (Wed - Sun 5.00 pm), where brass bands from the region get you in the mood for Christmas Eve with nostalgic and beautiful melodies. Blacksmith demonstrations take place every Friday and Saturday from 11.00-19.00 and on Sunday from 10.00-16.00.
