Welcome to the world of Casper and Josepha Zeitlinger
On historic ground, right at the roots of European industrial history, lies the Sensen Museum Micheldorf. At the site of the former "Sensenforge at Gries," scythes were produced here for over 400 years and exported millions of times all over the world.
The industrial pioneer Caspar Zeitlinger led the business to its greatest prosperity in the 19th century. By 1845, he already employed over 400 workers, making him one of the largest and most important entrepreneurs in the entire monarchy.
A visit to the Sensen Museum is a journey back in time to this past era. Authentically preserved buildings and numerous original objects bring the daily lives of Caspar and Josepha Zeitlinger, their family, and workers to life, telling tales of their worries and woes as well as of their dreams and visions.
