St. Sebald on the Heiligenstein has been a popular destination for pilgrims since the 15th century. In the anniversary year 2013, the "Heiligenstein Theme Trail" was opened and in 2020 the Sebaldus Pilgrimage Trail - the highlight of which is the Heiligenstein with its church dedicated to St. Sebald.
Details on the "Theme Path Heiligenstein": At several stations in and around the church, visitors receive the most important information about the history of the mountain shrine, its significance as a place of pilgrimage and about the work of St. Sebald. The highlight is the annual Sebaldi festival.
During the summer months, the snack station is open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays. The "Heiligenstein Team" serves visitors a hearty snack with delicacies from the region. The homemade pastries made by the volunteers of the snack station are always worth a little sin on the "holy" mountain. Of course, a good schnapps is not to be missed.
