The Trattenbach via ferrata is part of the "Naturfreunde Klettersteige Beisteinmauer". It is the easiest way to climb the upper wall of the Beisteinmauer via the long rope bridge and the spectacular aluminium ladder to the summit. There is an emergency exit to the right in the upper section.
Difficulty: Some places C, shortly before the exit also easier.
Child-friendly: No
Insurance: Well secured with steel cable and footholds.
Equipment: Complete via ferrata equipment and helmet
Starting point: Car park below the Beisteinmauer
Access to the wall: From the car park, take the forest path slightly uphill, then left to the practice via ferrata or to the Hetschi via ferrata.
Starting point altitude: 470 m
Entrance altitude: 500 m
Descent: From the summit, descend briefly to the east on the ridge, then right on the descent path down to the forest path and back to the car park. The descent is short B and often A - so do not take off your via ferrata equipment at the summit.
Public car park at Trattenbach train station, approx. 20-30 min to the via ferrata.Best time of year: March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October
