Description:
The Kremstal Cycle Path R 10 - "The Legendary Cycle Path" starts or ends in Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn or Traun - depending on where you start, and has a length of 63 kilometres.

Directions:
On this easy tour, you follow the Krems River from its source to where it flows into the Traun. Along the way, you immerse yourself in wild and romantic natural sections and pass castles, palaces and monasteries such as Schlierbach Abbey and Kremsmünster, Altpernstein Castle or Traun Castle, which are always worth a visit. At the inviting resting places along the legendary cycle path, you can learn everything about the route on the information boards as well as about the legends and tales that are told about the castles, palaces and monasteries up and down the country. There are also opportunities to dip your feet in the cool water on some banks of the Krems.

New rest areas

The numerous rest areas that have been built along the route with the support of the municipalities are a fabulous place to relax. The relaxation loungers, benches and theme boards invite you to take a short break, enjoy the magnificent landscape along the Krems, cool your feet here and there in the Krems River or even dare to jump into the cold water.

By train and bike

Another plus point of this fabulous cycle path are the local rail connections. Cyclists can choose the ÖBB service in almost every town along the cycle path to get there or, for tired cyclists, back to the starting point. It is very easy to take bicycles with you, at weekends it is advisable to book in advance.

Connection possibilities for the Upper Austrian cycle path network

As already mentioned, the Kremstal Cycle Path R 10 is an optimal route from the Upper Austrian central region to the periphery. Many possible combinations, such as the Traunradweg, Donauradweg, Steyrtalradweg into the National Park region, on the National Park Radweg into the Pyhrn Priel region and further on the Hintergebirgsradweg and Ennsradweg back into the central region, result in interesting cycle tours lasting several days, which are among the most beautiful in the country in terms of landscape and distance!

Simply fabulous!

No other cycle path in Upper Austria has so many castles, fortresses and monasteries along the route, about which there are the most legendary legends and stories to tell. Starting with Traun Castle or Klaus Castle (depending on which direction you start in), cyclists "learn" legendary stories about the partly existing or former manorial seats, castles and monasteries such as Schlierbach Abbey or Kremsmünster Abbey. Simply fabulous, this cycle path!

Cycle through the legendary Krems Valley and enjoy the unspoilt landscape along the Krems between Klaus and Traun.

Safety guidelines:
Inquire in advance about any trail or road closures along the route.
