Description:

From Oberland, the path goes under the federal road and steeply northwest through bright mixed forest to the summit. From there, it continues on trail E03, descending through Kleingschnaidt and at Thalhof on the Dornberg trail via Gaflenz back to the starting point.

Variants:



  • This summit route can be extended on trail E03 to a demanding circular hike to Spindeleben.

  • Alternatively, an unmarked hiking path leads from Gaflenz over Sonnberg to the White Cross.

Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - Gaflenz station, Oberland station: By train, you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 2 hours from Linz and about 2.5 hours from Vienna.Safety guidelines:
No refreshment options along the way, so bring drinks and snacks if needed.
