The deepest cellar in Steyr

The 2-storey Michaelerkeller is the deepest publicly accessible vaulted cellar in Steyr. It is around 600 years old and was once used as the wine cellar of the Michaelerkirche. Barrel vaults and spherical-head paving give the three cellar rooms a special ambience.

The rooms are privately owned and are only available for selected events. The spherical-head paving requires sturdy shoes. Due to the high humidity, an event duration of a maximum of one hour is recommended.
