The Dambergwarte is located on the local mountain of St. Ulrich near Steyr, the Damberg (811 m). The tower is 36 meters high and offers a wide panoramic view of the foothills of the Alps and the Alpine foreland. As early as 1869, the Alpine Club erected a 21 metre high tower, which was replaced by a new one in 1888. It was taken over by the Verschönerungsverein in 1921. The second building was closed in 1932 and demolished in 1934. In 1971, the plans for the current 36 metre-high observation tower were finalised. It was opened on 1 October 1972 and was last renovated in May/June 2014.
