Place of power on the Georgenberg
The strongest radiation is in the church near the people's altar, but it can be felt throughout the entire area (source: "Kultplätze in Oberösterreich", Freya Verlag). Possibility of picnic in the area around the church (beautiful panoramic view) or a stop at the Georgenberg inn. T +43 (0) 7582/64030 Tues. and Wed. day off Description
The area around Micheldorf has been settled since the Neolithic Age. As early as the Hallstatt period (750-400 BC), there was a refuge with a double rampart on the Georgenberg.

Every two years - always on the Sunday after Georg (23.4.) - the Georgiritt takes place. Horsemen and horses adorned with splendid, ancient costumes parade through the village to the Georgenberg, which is one of the most popular excursion destinations with its little wedding church and prehistoric excavations.
