The parish church of St. Ulrich bei Steyr belongs to the Steyr deanery in the diocese of Linz. The church is a listed building. The single-nave, three-bay late Gothic nave with a spacious impression has a newer barrel vault with reticulated ribs from the 19th century. The two-bay ribbed-vaulted choir has a five-aisle closure. On the outside, the nave has stepped buttresses and tracery windows. The tower in the northern choir corner was converted into an eight-sided clerestory in 1868, the end being completed by a pointed helmet. The north and west portals are late Gothic. The high altar, dating from 1662, was remodelled at the end of the 18th century. The tabernacle in rococo style was made in 1660/1670. The side altars are from 1764. The pulpit is from the end of the 17th century. The choir stalls are marked 1618. There are baroque oil paintings from the 17th century. Two oval paintings Erasmus and Florian were painted in the style of Anton Hitzenthaler the Elder.
The windows The two painted nave windows on the south wall are of excellent quality. The left window depicts "Christ in his father's workshop" and the right "St. Isidore as a wanderer". The Laurenzi Chapel can be seen behind St. Isidore.
High altar The high altarpiece was installed in 1852. It depicts St. Ulrich caring for the sick. The gold-framed statues of St. Sebastian, Rochus, Benedikt and Berthold were created in 1730 by the Steyr sculptor Johann Michael Schuster.
Sacristy door The handle and the lock cover plate date from the 16th or even 15th century.
Side altars The carvings of the left side altar date from the 18th century. The centre of the right altar is an outstanding painting of the crucifixion of Christ, made around 1770.
Stations of the Cross The 14 Stations of the Cross paintings are of varying stylistic quality and date to the late 18th century.
Organ The neo-Gothic organ with its organ case from 1904 is the work of Josef Mauracher from St. Florian.
