359 Cycle tour "Kulturgenuss"

Path number: 359
Starting place: 4540 Bad Hall
Destination: 4540 Bad Hall

Leisurely cycle tour with the most energy-saving route possible, focussing on culture.

The pleasure has to be earned - that's why we start by cycling uphill past Feyregg Castle to Krühub primary school - a total of five kilometres of easy ascent. Below us, the Kremstal has been prepared - we enjoy the view and cycle another three kilometres on a fairly flat route before descending into the valley.
We cycle briskly along the provincial cycle path to Wartberg, cross the Krems in the town centre and continue southwards on goods roads - in front of us are the shining Limestone Alps, the jagged Kremsmauer, where the river that gives the valley its name has its idyllic source. The Krems floodplains to the left, Schlierbach Abbey further back - the eye feasts on the unspoilt landscape, whose fertile soils are the basis for healthy food, which sells like hot cakes at the well-known Schlierbach farmers' market. From Schlierbach railway station, there is a steep climb up to the pretty village with its Cistercian abbey. As a reward, there is plenty for body and soul - show dairy, famous glass workshops, mediative stop, etc.
We finally reach Nußbach quickly via Hofern. The church tower is almost reminiscent of Heiligenblut ... but instead of the Großglockner, forest hills greet us. We can only taste the nut spirit, otherwise the scenic way back will be problematic!

Path:
Eduard-Bach-Straße - Wartberg - Schlierbach - Nußbach - Eduard-Bach-Straße.

Our lovely blogger Angelika Mandler-Saul has written a wonderful report about our cycling region, which you can read here!
