Trail number: 466

Directions:
Along the marked trail no. 466 you start across the military training area (attention-opening times!). Soon after, the marked hiking trail climbs next to the waterfalls of the Paltenbach to the Nicklbachsteg (springs).

Keeping to the right, the hike leads to the "Schinder" gully, which is climbed through to the Schöpferböndl. We cross the avalanche slope, which is only dangerous in winter, and reach the gate of the Feichtau Alm. Now it is not far to the Feichtauhütte of the Steyr Alpine Club.

There the path branches off to the right to the Großer and Kleiner Feichtausee - no one should miss the short detour to these water eyes surrounded by mountain pines and boulders at the foot of the Seehagelmauer!

Straight ahead, however, you reach the neighboring Feichtau Alm, which was built in 1996 on the site of the former Polzhütte. North of it rises the 1,485 m high Sonntagsmauer, whose ridge, covered by rustic forest, is made accessible by a new themed circular trail. This also provides a view of the valley of the Krummen Steyrling as far as the Ennstaler Voralpen.

The descent follows the same route.
