Urban circular walk from the town square through the Enge, then up to the Werndlpark, past the Museumsbahnhof to Christkindl and over the Wehrgraben, through the Schnallentor over the Tabor down to the Rederbrücke bridge, cross this and along the Enns via the Neutor back to the town square.

Description:
Starting possibilities: Steyr Tourist Office and Tabor Sports Hall
Your route takes you from the town square to Lamberg Castle, then along the promenade and through the castle park, via the museum railway station to Christkindl pilgrimage church. Through the Unterhimmler Au and Fabrikstraße as well as through the Wehrgraben you come to the Michaelerkirche and over the Schnallentor to the Tabor. Down to the Rederbrücke, along the Paddlerweg, over the Schönauerbrücke, through the Neutor back to the starting point.

Route length 11 kilometres (route map available at the start).
Directions:
Take enough time for this hike to historically significant places, enjoy the nature in the Unterhimmler Au with its riparian forests or rough grasslands with rare plants. Perhaps you will also see a Eisvogel on the Steyr.
Your path leads you from the town square through the narrows and from the intermediate bridges to Lamberg Castle further along the promenade and through the castle park, via the museum railway station to the Christkindl pilgrimage church.
Through the Unterhimmler Au and Fabrikstraße and through the Wehrgraben you come to the Michaelerkirche and over the Schnallentor to the Tabor. Down to the Rederbrücke bridge, cross it and walk along the Paddlerweg, over the Schönauerbrücke bridge, through the Neutor back to the starting point.

Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Steyr: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
