Description:
From the Alpengasthof Klausriegler in Trattenbach, this well-marked hiking trail leads steadily uphill to the summit of the Schoberstein (1,285 m) and to the Schobersteinhaus, then on to the Mandlmais, Pfaffenboden and Grünburger Hütte.

Alternative: For the way back, the alternative via Pfaffenboden and Schreibachfall is recommended.

Directions:
From the Alpengasthof Klausriegler in Trattenbach, this well-marked hiking trail leads steadily uphill, across a pasture, through forests, and then across a high plateau to the summit of the Schoberstein (1,285 m). Via the Schobersteinhaus, the trail continues over Mandlmais and Pfaffenboden to the Grünburger Hütte.

Variants:



  • From Alpengasthof Klausriegler, you can also reach Pfaffenboden via the Schreibachfall and continue directly to the Grünburger Hütte. This variant is also suitable for the way back.

  • From the Schreibachfall, continue along trail 480a to the Buchberg Hut and via the Sulzboden (404/409) to the Grünburger Hut.

  • From the Feitelmacher valley via the Hinterweyrmaier farmhouse and over the Sulzboden (404/409) to the Grünburger Hut.

From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > motorway exit Klaus > Grünburg > into the Ennstal valley

The Ennstalbahn runs between Linz and Weißenbach-St. Gallen.
