Via Maria - 10th daily stage from Grünau im Almtal, district Habernau to Frauenstein

Pilgrimage on long-distance alpine hiking trails from Altötting to Mariazell

From Habernau/Jagersimmerl (577 m), continue on hiking trail 04 (06, E4) through the Straneggbach valley past the Ödseen to the Almtaler Haus (714 m). From here steeply up to the Ring (897 m) and the Ringhütte (717 m) to Bernerau (622 m). Continue on an easy hiking trail along the Steyrling through the Brunnental to the village of Steyrling and on to Preisegg at the Klaus reservoir where we meet the Steyr river. Directly along the reservoir, you take the “Fischersteig” hiking trail below the castle and mountain church, past Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn (461 m). On the Klauser hiking trail no. 2 over the dam or the Ecklbrunner bridge to the east bank of the Steyr river and on easy paths over the village to Frauenstein.

From Habernau to the Almtaler Haus approx. 1.5 hours, from here approx. 1 hour to the Ring, another 3 hours to Steyrling, approx. 2 hours to Klaus, around half an hour to Frauenstein.
