Snowshoe route - Schüttbauernalm (from Niglalm)

Starting point: Niglalm - Viehtaleralm/Kleinreifling (47.786356, 14.596415)

Relatively easy snowshoe route

The route starts at the parking lot of the former Viehtaleralm ski area. Over the alpine pasture, you initially climb up to Bärenkogel. Then continue along the forest road (hiking trail 495) flat to a junction (*variant). Here you turn left towards Schüttbauernalm. At the Grabnertal hunting lodge, the path now leads a short stretch through the forest uphill until you reach the forest road again (alternatively, you can also follow the forest road). Continuing on the forest road, you reach the Menaueralm hunting lodge. Over the alpine pasture and the hill, you then descend to Schüttbauernalm.

For the return, you can take the same path or go a short piece through the forest behind Schüttbauernalm. You reach a forest road which you follow to the left. This forest road joins the hiking trail halfway to the Grabnertal hunting lodge.
