Description: Via the Way of the Cross you go uphill over the Georgenbergsattel and over the Pröllerbild in the direction of Altpernstein Castle. A detour to the Hirschwaldstein (1,095 m, 50 minutes) is worthwhile and downhill you will pass the Zederbauer chapel.Hiking trail: K92
Directions: With the little Georgenberg church in front of you, you march through the quiet village along the Way of the Cross uphill. You should not miss a detour to the church - also because of the beautiful view! Then walk quickly to the Georgenbergsattel. From there, an initially stony but romantic forest path leads over the Pröllerbild (wayside shrine) in the direction of Altpernstein Castle.On the forest road you will quickly get closer to the mighty castle, which was built on steep rocks. From here it is worth climbing the Hirschwaldstein (1,095 m, 50 minutes), as the entire ascent is harmless and easy.Downhill you will pass the Zederbauer chapel. Leisurely walk past the Reitergut Weißenhof inn to the starting point.
Tip: Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - Micheldorf train station in Upper Austria: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.

Equipment: Sturdy hiking boots, possibly gaiters, warm weatherproof winter clothing, hiking poles, possibly some provisions, warm drink.For the steeper sections it is advisable to bring dredges.
