After an ascent through the forest we come to the Sulzboden. From here it is not far to the Grünburger Hütte, which is at 1101 m and is open for business. We continue, the signpost points to the left keeping to the Schoberstein. We walk slightly downhill on the forest road towards Pfaffenboden, then steeply uphill again over the Schinder until we turn left into the forest at Mandlmais. It goes very steeply uphill, be careful when it is wet it can be very slippery. At the top, we can briefly branch off to the Gaisberg summit and the summit of Lust. The short detour is worth it.
Not far and we arrive at the Schobersteinhaus. If you have time, then it is worth a stop, the very good food here is worth a break. Afterwards we visit the summit cross of the Schoberstein (1285 m). The panoramic view into the foothills of the Alps is fantastic. After that it's all downhill, the strenuous climbs are done. We follow the path to the Klausriegler inn (unfortunately already closed), walk past the parking lot and down a narrow path until we reach the asphalt Kienberg road. Here you still have the opportunity to fill up your water supply at the Hofstadl. Behind the Hofstadl we continue on a narrow meadow path, past a game reserve, until we reach the road again at the Feitelmacher, which leads us out of the Trattenbach valley. At the crossroads at the Infocenter, we now walk along the road for about 3 kilometers, keeping to the left, past the paragliding landing site until we reach our starting point again at the train station in Ternberg.
