Description:
Round to the Nussbach viewing mountain with panoramic views of the Alpine foothills via forest and meadow trails (19.7km/499m)Shorter tour starting from the Nussbach sports ground possible (12.4km/403m)

Directions:
The tour starts at Nußbach railway station. To start, walk towards Wartberg along the cycle path to the right of the railway. Take the first junction on the right and continue to the Wartberg road L554. Cross this road and continue along the Nußbach stream, past a bridge and onto a dirt track that leads slightly uphill to the Pogmunkl settlement. The L556 country road must be used for approx. 200 metres to the left as a transition to the Hochwimmer goods road. Here it goes up to the right past an alpaca enclosure. At a farm, the tour leads left through a forest path onto the road towards Wimberg. After the fire station, take the yellow-green signposted Benediktweg trail to the left and steeply downhill towards Regengraben. After crossing the Nußbach stream, the path turns right over Stretzerstraße and immediately left again onto the Feyreggbach forest and woodland path (recognisable by a barrier). From here, the tour remains on the Neuhauserweg, which runs parallel to the Stretzer Bach stream for most of the way. The stream has to be crossed once, but is not an obstacle due to the low water level and stones. The path is well trodden and partly marked by wooden signposts. The path ends approx. 150 metres before the highest point "Weiß'n am Sattel" to which you turn right. Here you will find a snack station with typical home cooking

After enjoying the fantastic view in all directions (including a panoramic picture with an explanation of the surrounding mountains), we head back in the same direction from which we came, but stay on the road for approx. 650 metres before heading straight down a forest path. From here the tour follows the Nußgeistweg K61. After the hollow path, turn left onto Schieferstraße and then left downhill before the forester's lodge. After 300 metres, turn left onto a forest path until you reach a forest road. Follow this road until it leads to a crossroads after a small settlement. This path is well signposted. Continue left along the Benediktweg to the centre of Nußbach. Pass the church and head down a narrow road next to the Schwingenschuh joinery towards the sports field. Straight ahead across the road, past the Nußbach sports ground, over the bridge over the Nußbach stream and up to the Hochwimm farm track. Here you walk along a meadow path directly past the fence. Down to the right, past the alpacas, you take the same route back to Nußbach railway station.

Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
