Description: Circuit with a length of 15.2 km and 688 metres of ascent. A beautiful and technically easy circuit between Ternberg and Losenstein.
Directions: The trail starts at the Badenbach bus stop approx. 1 km before Losenstein. A road leads us into the Wurmbachgraben. We walk along the Wurmbach until after 1.8 km the road branches off to the left. Here we reach the Großternberg-Alm. After 3.2 kilometres, we leave the road and turn right onto a path that takes us up to the mountain pasture. At the top, we continue to the right towards Koglerhof.Back on tarmac, we walk down to the Jochberg chapel. Immediately behind it, the trail climbs steeply towards Jochberg with a small summit cross. From here, the route continues uphill and downhill on beautiful trails towards Hetzerhöhe and finally to Schönleitner Höhe with a large summit cross and benches for resting. We now turn right, steeply down a path to Gasthof Pranzl in the Brunngraben, continue along the road and then turn right in the hollow onto the path that leads us up to the Jagdstein. Back at the Jochberg chapel, we walk along the road from here, past the beautiful Fatima chapel and follow the road through the Wurmbachgraben to the starting point of our tour.
Tip: Refreshments available at the Koglerhof and Gasthof Pranzl (advance booking required)
Equipment: The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
