Peace Path route in the cold season

This varied circular hike combines scenic high paths with idyllic forest and valley sections. It leads from Gasthof Kleinschönleiten over the Schönleitnerhöhe and the Jagdstein down into the valley and finally back to the starting point through the Brunngraben.

From Gasthof Kleinschönleiten follow the signs up to the Schönleitnerhöhe to the Peace Cross. From there, continue on the scenic high path towards Hetzerhöhe, past meadows, forests, the Jochberg and the Jagdstein. At Jagdstein, there is a path that leads downhill into the valley. Once at the bottom, continue on the road downstream towards Talhäusl. From Talhäusl follow the road uphill again through the Brunngraben until you finally reach Gasthof Kleinschönleiten again.

Stop at Gasthaus Kleinschönleiten, Café | Bar HOLZECK or Gasthaus Geiger.

Adjust your routes according to the current weather reports and act according to the seasonal hazards in the terrain.

Clothing:

• Functional or ski underwear


• Fleece jacket (for very cold temperatures)


• Waterproof outdoor jacket or light winter jacket


• Warm softshell pants or hiking pants - In severe cold: ski pants


• Hat and gloves


• Scarf or multifunctional cloth


• Gaiters (in snow)


• Warm hiking socks


• Sturdy, winter-suitable footwear (waterproof, grippy sole)

• Hiking poles or ski poles (with winter baskets) if needed


• Light crampons or microspikes
