Führungen, Fahrten, Touren, Sportveranstaltung, Führung, Sonstige Tour

The Kalkalpen National Park region plays a key role in the recolonization of the lynx in the Alps. The first photo trap photo was taken in the national park in 2000, and since then lynx have been regularly recorded in the area, albeit always from the same individual.

A total of five wild lynx were relocated from Switzerland to the Kalkalpen National Park in 2011, 2013 and 2017 to support the population.
The population support was initially successful: from 2012, there were lynx cubs in the Kalkalpen National Park region for the first time in over 150 years. However, there was also evidence of illegal shooting and the poachers were convicted in court. On this exclusive tour, you will learn from lynx researcher Christian Fuxjäger about the current status of the project as well as interesting facts about the lifestyle of the large, shy forest cat with the striking "brush ears".

Meeting point: will be announced upon registration

Opening times: 09:00 to 15:00, pure walking time approx. 3 hours

Note:

Guide: National Park employee and lynx expert Christian Fuxjäger
