Franz Schubert once stayed in this house from 1819 to 1825. The foyer with its stucco ceiling used to be the house chapel.

Junior Suite “Festival"
The festival suite has a long history at Hotel Mader. Before 1960, this part of the house was the banquet hall of the Bachinger inn, where Josef Werndl celebrated in his time (an anecdote tells that Werndl, in a festive mood, shot down the chandelier in the living room across the street with his rifle).
With great attention to detail, the festival suite has now been redesigned in shades of gold yellow and walnut brown. It now reflects the history of the Steyr Music Festival, which has been held in the castle moat of Lamberg every summer for more than 20 years.

The Mader Family:
Johann and Eleonore Mader senior took over the business in 1965.
Since 1998, they have been enjoying their well-deserved pension. Family Hans and Monika Mader now run the business in the third generation. The three children of Hans and Monika Mader are aged 16, 26, and 28 years.
