Carriage & Sledge Museum

Großraming, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Under the guiding theme of "experiencing" history, the largest private carriage museum in Austria takes you back to the past of our means of transportation before the automobile.
Carriage rides are also available upon request.

Over 80 vehicles are housed in the museum, founded in 1986, covering more than 1200 m². A cross-section and comparison of agricultural, civilian, and noble means of transportation are the focus of the museum. The museum displays carriages that "tell stories," such as the sleigh that Josef Werndl drove, or the ceremonial carriage of the diocesan bishops of Linz.

Another part of the museum is dedicated to accessories related to carriages and horses. A special concern of the museum is to convey the cultural-historical aspects of former means of transportation to today's visitors and to tell the story around the "driving culture" of the past.

In addition, the collection of the Heimatstube Großraming is also represented, providing an authentic insight into the life of the Ennstal population in the 19th century.
