Description:

For the hike to the Gschwendtalm there are two options - via the Gschwendthäusl on the trail through the forest or via the Langerhäusl on the forestry road. Behind the Gschwendtalm, over steep meadows and through forests, you reach the Gamsstein.
Hiking trail: E44, 491

Directions:

Via the Gschwendthäusl the trail leads always uphill through the forest to the Gschwendtalm. Then it continues initially uphill over the steep meadow behind the hut, then past a spring in the forest and finally over a steep grassy ridge onto the summit ridge and to the cross at the highest point.

From the ridge, a sign points to the branching path to the Ennser Hut and the Almkogel. However, we descend again to the Gschwendtalm and recommend taking the forestry road to the Langerhäusl for the return route.

Tip:
Take time for a proper stop at the Gschwendtalm - the alpine pasture is one of the most traditional in Upper Austria!
