Description:

From Brunnbachstadl past the Brunnbach school, the hike leads along the Weyrer Brunnbach on the forest road and then on a forest path to the beautifully situated alpine pasture with the Gschwendtalm (954 m) and from there over meadows and through forests further up to the Gamsstein (1,275 m).

Directions:

From the Brunnbach car park, trail E44a leads past the Brunnbach school into the Weyrer Brunnbach. On the forest road you walk flat until the first intersection, then follow it on the left steadily ascending. At a hairpin turn, the path leaves the forest road and joins a forest path that finally leads into hiking trail 491/E44. After a few minutes you enter the beautifully located alpine pasture. In the middle is the 300-year-old alpine building of the Gschwendtalm (954 m).

  • Return via the forest path to the Gschwendthöhe car park and past the Brunnbach church down to the starting point (E44)

  • Return from the Gschwendtalm via the forest road to Langerhäusl and Gschwendtbauer, past the Gschwendthöhe car park and the Brunnbach church down to the starting point

  • From Großraming/Gschwendthöhe car park in Brunnbach through the forest path to the Gschwendtalm and on to the Gamsstein. Return on the forest road or via the Weyrer Brunnbach, past the Brunnbach church up to the starting point (E44, 491, E44a)

  • Crossing via the Danzersteig to the Ennserhütte (1,293 m) Almkogel (1,513 m) (492a)
