Our region boasts numerous churches and pilgrimage places, from Gothic and Baroque to modern architecture, as well as the magnificent Schlierbach Cistercian Monastery – ideal retreats to pause and marvel at these impressive yet tranquil places of worship.

To name only two of our region’s many fascinating religious buildings, the St. Sebald Pilgrimage Church on top of the Heiligenstein Mountain is the highlight for all pilgrims hiking along the Sebaldusweg Path and the Christkindl Pilgrimage Church has been, since time immemorial, a major attraction in the Steyr Christkindl Region during the Christmas season.
