The national park visitors centre at the Wurbauerkogel impresses with ist unique panorama tower and the exhibition „Fascination Rock“ is definately worth seeing – now also barrier-free!

The focus of the exhibition is on the unusual and remarkable flora and fauna above the tree line. In addition, you will find out from new experience stations why there are more butterflies in the Kalkalpen National Park than in any other protected area in Austria and how the mountain forest will change as a result of climate change. The observation deck of the 21-meter high tower offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountain panorama of the Windischgarst valley: Totes Gebirge, Haller Walls and Sengsengebirge almost to attack.

858 mAccessibility / arrival
A9 - Roßleithen exit - B138 towards Windischgarsten - town center - at the municipal office, turn off to the Bergbahn car park. The easiest way to "arrive" on the 858m high Wurbauerkogel is by chairlift, on foot on marked hiking trails (walking time approx. 3/4 hours, almost 250 meters in altitude), by bike or by car.
Completely suitable for wheelchairs. The object complies with the legally stipulated ÖNORM.
