Mechanical nativity scene in the Christkindl parsonage
300 carved linden wood figurines, driven by a unique mechanical system, move through the biblical landscape of the Mechanical Nativity scene built by Karl Klauda (1855 - 1939).
Pöttmesser nativity scene in the Christkindl parsonage
The Pöttmesser Nativity Scene, with its 58 square metres is one of the world’s largest nativity scenes and provides sufficient room to accommodate the 700 figurines of the South Tyrolese Ferdinand Pöttmesser (1895 - 1977). The landscape mountain was added with loving care at a later date by Josef Seidl, a Steyr citizen.

Take advantage of the quieter time between Christmas and 6 January!
Advance booking for groups required.
During the year, the pilgrimage church can be visited from the outside, and access to the church is possible up to the barrier.

Registration at the parish office is essential for all groups.

Guided tours of the church and the nativity scene exhibition are possible throughout the year for groups of 10 people or more by prior arrangement at the parish office.
