Climbing Garden Gelsenwand

Losenstein, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Massif opened up in 1993 at the beginning of the Hintsteingraben. Very interesting and varied despite sometimes abruptly breaking holds and footholds. The routes offer very beautiful, partly athletic wall climbs, which are sometimes still easy to climb even in the rain.

Not recommended in summer because of gnats and ticks. Shady in high winter, otherwise sunny until about 15:00.

25 routes in difficulty grades 7 to 10-, route lengths 15 - 25 metres.

The topos and route descriptions for the Blaslmauer at www.klettern-im-ennstal.at

Rock condition
Athletic ledge climbing, not solid rock everywhere, nevertheless very rewarding.

Ambience
Beautiful, quiet spot in a sparse, very species-rich mixed deciduous forest.

Access
Behind the farmhouse, first follow the forest road and before the bend at the edge of the meadow, cross to the right into the forest. Immediately after the edge of the forest, pass a game feeding area and first below, then to the right of the striking rock tower on a serpentine path to the wall, which is somewhat hidden to the right of the tower. Walking time from the farmhouse 5 to 10 minutes.

Distance
From Losenstein approx. 2,7 km | approx. 5 minutes driving time

Important notes
Climbing is sometimes closed due to hunting (check with the farmer) !

Arrival/Parking
Access
From Losenstein as to the NixIoch until the turn-off from the Dirnstraße into the Hintsteingraben. From the turn-off, walk 800 metres to the Feldbauer estate on the right-hand side of the road (Urlaub am Bauernhof Ziebermayer).

The car park is signposted. Nevertheless, please be sure to ask the owner and show consideration for holiday guests
