The network started ten years ago with 64 member companies and a budget of 120,000 euros - a Leader subsidy. Today there are 130 companies in the network. Karl Schwarz comments: "It is also satisfying to see what has been created over the past ten years. It is important that the added value remains in the Steyrtal." The Steyrtal Card, or app, has been particularly well received. "It has already generated two million sales," says Schwarz. "We want to continue to be a strong partner for companies in the Steyrtal - a small but excellent business location. We are on the right track and will continue to serve the region and its businesses in the future. Steyrtal has great 'Leit' with great leading companies."
600 businesses with 2,500 jobs
"The success lies in the fact that the companies in this network implement the programme themselves. A large proportion of them do so on a voluntary basis and, above all, to make an active contribution to local life," says WKO district office manager Siegfried Pramhas, one of the coordinators, describing the success factor. "600 businesses with 2,500 jobs. For a small economic area, the density of member companies is enormous."
