Description:

From Grünburg station along Messerer Weg and over the museum footbridge, the walking path leads to the center of Steinbach an der Steyr, then downstream to Pieslwang in the floodplain area up to the Sommerhuber Mill.

Directions:

Arrival from the Steyr local station with the Steyrtal museum railway to Grünburg.


From Grünburg station, walk along Messerer Weg over the museum footbridge to Steinbach an der Steyr to the Messerer Museum, then up the Hochgasse to the parish church of Steinbach. The path then continues behind the church over the Burgstall down to the main street and left to Messererplatz.


Now walk downstream on the right bank of the Steyr River to Pieslwang. At the Kienauer guesthouse, the chestnut garden and the large playground away from the road invite you to stop for a break. After a well-deserved rest, follow path No. 11 to the tracks of the Steyrtal museum railway. Follow these for about 200 meters to marker No. 11. Now walk through a wonderful floodplain area to the museum stop "Sommerhuber Mill" and enjoy the romantic return trip to Steyr on the Steyrtal museum railway.

From the south: A9 exit Klaus > into the Steyr valley
