Summit route on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park - on forest road and forest path to the oldest alpine pasture in the Kalkalpen (15th century) and to the Gamsstein
From Brunnbachstadl past the Brunnbach school, the hike leads along the Weyrer Brunnbach on the forest road and then on a forest path to the beautifully situated alpine pasture with the Gschwendtalm (954 m) and from there over meadows and through forests further up to the Gamsstein (1,275 m).

Directions:From the Brunnbach car park, trail E44a leads past the Brunnbach school into the Weyrer Brunnbach. On the forest road you walk flat until the first intersection, then follow it on the left steadily ascending. At a hairpin turn, the path leaves the forest road and joins a forest path that finally leads into hiking trail 491/E44. After a few minutes you enter the beautifully located alpine pasture. In the middle is the 300-year-old alpine building of the Gschwendtalm (954 m).

From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > motorway exit Klaus > Grünburg > into the Ennstal valley
Railway Stations are located in Ternberg, Trattenbach, Losenstein, Reichraming, Großraming, Gaflenz, Weyer, Küpfern, Kastenreith, Kleinreifling and Weißenbach-St. Gallen.
