Description: Starting point for this not too long, but absolutely worthwhile snowshoe tour or ski tour is the parking lot Gschwendtalm just two kilometers before the village of Brunnbach near Großraming.
Directions: From the parking lot, follow the marked hiking trail to the Gschwendtalm. In front of the Gschwendthäusl farmhouse, the trail leads left into the forest and, becoming increasingly steeper, you reach the flat alpine pasture area of the Gschwendtalm after 45 minutes. Only the ascent track divides the immaculate white area. Behind the alpine pasture it becomes gradually steeper again and you reach a forest road at the edge of the forest, which you follow to the hunting lodge below the Gamsstein. Only the summit slope separates the tourers from the highest point at 1,275 meters. In serpentines it finally goes to the ridge and on this one reaches the summit in a few steps. In full splendor lies the varied landscape of the Kalkalpen National Park with the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and Sengsengebirge with the extensive forests and the two-thousand-meter peaks of the Haller Mauern and Ennstaler Alps starting further back in front of the successful tourers. Two splendid slopes await ski tourers on the descent, and for snowshoe hikers the descent is no less fun, as you can "float" down the slopes if the snow conditions are good. The second beautiful slope leads down towards Gschwendtalm. The trail continues back to the starting point via a forest road that leads into the forest on the right edge of the alpine pasture and along which you return to the starting point.
Safety guidelines: Characteristics: easy tour, beautiful slopes and magnificent views of the back mountain landscape; in unsafe conditions, caution is advised on the summit slope
