Description:
Circuit with many viewpoints in all directions over a length of 14km with 800Hm. The beautiful trail over the castle Altpernstein up to the Zederbauernspitz. Along the ridge to the Ochsenkogel and over the Pröller back down.

Directions:
The tour starts at the train station in Micheldorf. You start in the direction of the left past the company Cloeren. After about 200m, before the last house on the right, you take a narrow path to the underpass of the B138. Then turn left and after the right-hand bend continue straight ahead across the old B138, following Burgstraße until you reach Reitergut Weissenhof. In the right-hand bend after that, continue straight on the marked hiking trail to the castle.

After the second crossing of a small brook we turn right into the forest until we reach a crossroad. From here we follow the hiking trail K19 to the Zederbauern chapel and further to the L1320. Turn left here and after 100m immediately right again in the direction of Altpernstein Castle. Arrived at the saddle of the castle, the path leads to the left until after about 200m it goes left again over a meadow path and then up the forest path to a forest road. Keep left here until after about 50m you turn right again into the forest (no marking!).

Follow the next forest road until you reach a crossroads. From here, the trail runs parallel to the forest road for a short time until it continues on this road to the next intersection. Continue straight ahead and immediately turn right onto the path towards Zederbauernspitz (small wooden signpost). At first flat, it then goes steeply uphill for a few meters. From the summit (small cross made of branches) it goes down the ridge trail to a fork. Here right and the next fork left up towards Ochsenkogel (path is well trodden and visible).Continue downhill until you reach a forest road. Here you continue to the right back in the direction of the castle. The first crossing is just passed and at the second half right we use again a forest path that runs parallel to the forest road. Afterwards the path continues towards Burg and for a short time it goes back on the same route as the outward route (marking available).

However, about 100m before the castle, at a hut, it already goes left down to the Altpernstein road. Here we turn left and at the next bend we turn right again into the hiking trail 21/K91. We follow it down over the road to the houses through in the direction of Graben.

Shortly after the trail enters the forest, it goes sharply left along over a stream up towards Pröller. This trail ends at a turnaround point. Here it goes half right over the highest point down to the Pröller. On the way straight ahead you cross a forest road and also the musician's path until you reach a road that leads to the Georgiberg saddle. Follow this road down to the old B138. Here the path continues to the right towards the center of Micheldorf. In front of Cafe Schwarz, turn left over the bridge and then immediately right again along the Krems River to the Sensenschmiede Museum. 150 m after that turn left over the Pyhrnpass road back to the Micheldorf train station.

Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.

We have a general checklist for you here:

  • Weather-appropriate running gear for the season - weather forecast - region - elevation. This includes:
