Short, easy trail running route around the town of Reichraming
Technically easy loop with a length of 7.2 km and about 175 m of ascent. It goes above the Reichraming stream on forest paths downstream and returns over a partly narrow path (Schützen-Steig).
Directions:The route starts at Reichraming train station. We go under the tracks at the underpass and run along Meierhoferstraße. Past the tennis court, through the housing estate, it goes left up the Museumsweg into the forest. Beautiful views directly of the center of Reichraming open up to us on the way. Now it goes downstream on a beautiful forest path, always above the Reichraming stream, to Dirnbach. Here we leave the forest path and follow the asphalt road downstream to the Dirnbach chapel. There we cross the bridge over the stream and keep right until we reach the Schützen-Steig after a farmhouse. This narrow path leads us back to Reichraming. Caution is advised here, as the path is partly blocked by fallen trees. After the path, we cross the stream again and hike along Dirnbachstraße past Arena Schallau back into the town.
Equipment:The required equipment always depends on the particular route and the weather conditions. Regarding food: this is very individual, and it is advisable to bring more rather than less for equipment and food. A 5 km round in the valley requires less than a demanding route in the mountains. The weather can change quickly, and if you are not constantly moving or need to take a break, warming clothing is very important, for example.
We have a general checklist for you here:
Weather-appropriate running clothes for the respective season – weather forecast – region – altitude. These include, among others: * a waterproof rain jacket * waterproof rain pants suitable for running * gloves and warm headwear (cap/headband/neck gaiter) * sunglasses + sunscreen + headwear for very warm days
Trail running shoes
Water bottles, soft flasks, or a hydration bladder with enough fluid for the respective tour (possibly also salt tablets/magnesium)
Snacks for an energy boost in between: energy bars, gels, chocolate, trail mix,
Running backpack: ideally a trail running vest / a trail running backpack or a waist belt for small tours.
Drypack: to keep your valuables or change of clothes dry (optionally a small trash bag)
Emergency blanket
Small first aid kit. In my opinion, an Israeli bandage is highly recommended: it is a one-handed operation wound and pressure bandage. You can find details here.
Emergency whistle (often integrated in the trail backpack)
Mobile phone
Map material (online and/or offline)
E-card or insurance card
Some cash
Crampons/spikes: these can be a great advantage in winter and icy conditions.
Folding poles for trail running
Headlamp
