Description: Circular course with 11 km and 375 metres in altitude from the Steyrdurchbruch power station, through the Tiefengraben to the Kienberg and up to the funny cone. The course is easy to run as there are no technical challenges and is therefore also a good tip for winter.
Directions: The starting point of the trail is the bus stop at the large car park at the Steyrdurchbruch. Cross the main road and the Steyrtal cycle path and after a few hundred metres you reach the Tiefengraben and the upper Wienerweg. This leads us for a few kilometres along the Tiefenbach stream on paths, forest tracks and forest roads. At the end of the forest section, we reach the village of Wienerweg. At the first farm just before the end of the village, we turn left into the forest. From here, we follow forest roads and paths up to the Kienberg. Magnificent views of the village of Klaus, the Kremsmauer and the nearby Sengsengebirge mountains open up along the sometimes steep paths up to the summit of the Kienberg at almost 800 metres. From here it is all downhill to the second summit of the tour, the "Lustige Kegerl". The summit with a pretty little summit cross is located directly above a large gravel pit. Now it's a steep descent on paths through the forest until we reach the Wienerweg again, which takes us back to the starting point along the same route.
Equipment: The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
We have a general checklist for you here:

Grödeln/Spikes: these can be a great advantage in winter and icy conditions.
