Description:
Scenic circular route with 17.4 km and 713 metres in altitude around the Dambach Valley.

Directions:
The tour starts at the bus stop near the old nail smithy in Unterdambach. We head straight up Bärengrabenstraße for about 500 metres, then turn off into the forest at a signpost. A path now leads us up to Oberdambach. Here we come to a road again, which we follow for 1-2 kilometres and then turn left. Across meadows we reach the Fuchsenkogel. Passing the Friedenskapelle chapel, we reach the Sonnberg with its marvellous view of the Alpine foothills. The next summit is quickly reached. The Willeitenberg, where we turn left back into the forest and walk downhill along beautiful trails towards the Schwarzberg with its summit cross. We cross the meadow on the Schwarzberg and continue downhill, first steeply along a narrow trail, then along forest roads until we reach the Hertlerwiese. Just above it, we head back up into the forest towards Braschenberg, which we leave to the right. We then reach the Hönigwiese at kilometre 13 via flowing trails and forest roads. We keep left and walk to a signpost for Weidmannweg. From here, we descend along beautiful meadow paths into the Dambachtal valley. At Gasthof Weidmann, we turn left again on the road and shortly afterwards return to our starting point.

Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.

We have a general checklist for you here:

weather-appropriate running gear for the season - weather forecast - region - elevation. This includes: * a waterproof rain jacket * a waterproof rain trousers suitable for running * Gloves and warm headgear (hood/headband/towel). * sunglasses + sunscreen + headgear for very warm days
