Description:

This varied hike leads from the town center of Großraming through the forest and via a nicely constructed trail to Haingrabeneck. Along the way, impressive views of the mountain landscape of Kalkalpen National Park and the Alpine foothills invite you to pause.

Directions:

The starting point is the parking lot at Nah & Frisch (formerly Salzwimmer) in Großraming. From there, follow the road to the right. At the intersection, turn onto hiking trail E42a towards Haingrabeneck and initially stay on the road towards Fuchsberg. After the district, the path leads into the forest and further to the Schartenmauer. From here, the trail continues uphill on a well-developed path to the Haingrabeneck summit at 841 meters. About halfway, the viewpoint "Ausguck" invites you to take a break. There you have an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains and Kalkalpen National Park. At the summit, the view extends to the Alpine foothills.


The return route runs along a forest road and follows the Planetenweg back to Großraming.

  • Gaiters (in snow)

  • Warm hiking socks

  • Sturdy, winter-appropriate footwear (waterproof, grippy sole)

The bus stop is located directly next to the parking lot.


It is possible to arrive by train to Großraming station. The walking time to the starting point is about 20 minutes.
