Gasthof Ortbauerngut

Where timber was once transported using the forest railway from the mighty forests and unloaded, you now find the ORTSBAUERNGUT, a wonderful “Vierkanthof” farm perched atop a small hill next to the town’s church.
The location offers a wonderful view in every direction of the green slopes of the foothills of the Hintergebirge all the way to the Schieferstein. The estate, which was mentioned in documents in the 14th century, was purchased by our family in 1980 and remodelled step by step to become a beautiful country estate.
 
Let us pamper you with culinary treats like: Fresh lamb specialties, delicious trout from the stream, light treats made of fresh vegetables and salad, cheese specialties, mutton, regional desserts and cakes that are prepared in line with the old recipes that stem from the high-quality production of the neighbouring farmers.
 
To mix things up, we recommend that our guests take a biking tour for climbing in the Hintergebirge or for hiking to the Schieferstein with a beautiful view of the Ennstal or to one of the traditional mountain pastures in our vicinity.
