From the parish church Laussa, walk to the Geiger guesthouse, then behind the guesthouse along the climbing rock and up a meadow path. At the Breitn chapel, turn left following the Rotbauer farm track, along the Floesserweg, you reach after a longer uphill stretch, passing the Schneiderweg holiday farm, the junction on the Sonnberg ridge. From here, follow the long-distance hiking trail 04/06, pass the Laussa wind park, then the Spadenberg, and reach Maria Neustift via the Glasenberg – a detour to the summit is highly recommended due to the view and panorama over pre-Alpine peaks.
Variant from the Kleinschönleiten guesthouse: from the guesthouse, hike on the Kneipp Peace Trail (E 50) over the juniper heath to the natural monument Rebensteiner Mauer and from there continue towards Sonnberg, where you meet the Sebaldusweg again.

Enough snacks and drinks are recommended, as there are only limited opportunities for catering during the stages. It is also advisable to check the opening times of the gastronomy businesses in advance.
