Exhibits of local poets, like Marlen Haushofer and Prof. Otto Jungmair, contemporary and historical documents, the scythe factory Gsadt and the shoe factory Dachstein show the distinctive influence of the past on the economic and cultural development of the village of Molln, now situated within the National Park.

The museum in the village in Molln, built in 1998, offers insights into the history of the community and the region on 400m² of exhibition space with various thematic focuses. Interesting facts about the unique Molln Jew's harp makers, rare arched woodworking trades, iron and aluminium processing and the history of the "Dachstein" sports shoe factory can be found here. At the same time, contemporary and cultural history documentations show the formative influence of the past on the economic and cultural development of today's market town of Molln. The exhibition focuses in particular on the region's most important resources: wood, iron and water.
