Leisurely cycle tour with the most energy-saving route possible, focussing on culture. Today we want to explore the "land of hammers" and at the same time experience the natural beauty of the middle Steyrtal valley - first to Waldneukirchen, then down the steep Kirchbühel to the main road and along the Mayrhof goods road to Grünburg. Another beautiful view of the river with the picturesque Steinbach opposite ... a steep gradient ... The clear water is already rushing beside us, forming a dam in front of the small power station. This used to be the centre of the Messerer and other trades, water wheels drove the hammers and grinders - a path steeped in history from the heyday in the 16th century to the end of the Pils works, which are now a museum well worth seeing. Continue along the former railway road next to the Steyr - cross the river at the Haunoldmühle mill and return to Steinbach at the top. The village is known for its various gentle development concepts - it is not for nothing that the revitalised old vicarage is home to a "sustainability forge"! We cycle on through marvellous hillside forests above the Steyr and have the certainty that there can also be ecologically correct solutions to problems ... In this sense, the last climb to Steinersdorf is easier!
