Description:

From the starting point, head south over Neupernstein Castle into the village of Weinzierl, continue to Atzelsdorf, and then over Gradnteich and Alpenbad to the scythe smith museum. Then the loop leads north into the Müllerviertel and the return path follows the Verschönerungsweg.


Hiking trails: K4, K94, K1, K2

Directions:

From the Frohsinnwiese parking lot, walk to Kirchdorf city park with playgrounds and a fitness course. Continue past Neupernstein Castle, where a magnificent castle view awaits you.


Now the K 94 trail branches off and leads south into the district of Weinzierl and further via Mitterweg to Atzelsdorf. Here cross the road to Altpernstein Castle and after about 150 m turn right on the path via Gradnteich and Alpenbad.


After the parking lot at the Alpenbad Micheldorf (second starting point), keep slightly left and continue to the scythe smith museum. From there, head north via Herrenhaus to Alte Spitalstraße. Later, take the underpass of the B 138 and you are already in Müllerviertel.


Follow Gräberfeldstraße to the intersection, where you go left, then cross the railway crossing and take the path on the right along the railway embankment. The return path, K 2, leads via the Verschönerungsweg, here it goes through a railway underpass near the tennis courts back to Kirchdorf city center.

Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - Kirchdorf/Krems train station, Micheldorf train station: By train, you can reach the starting point of this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
