Description:
This circular route with a length of 15.8km and 1049hm leads across meadows and forests to two peaks with great views at the gates of Großraming. First to the Hieslberg (Hiaslberg) and after the descent into the Lumplgraben varied over forest roads and forest paths up to the Rotstein.

Directions:
Start of the tour is the train station in Großraming. At the junction towards Lumplgraben/Brunnbach there is a signpost. From there it goes across meadows uphill past pasture fences into the first section of forest. Here the path splits and you have to take the left path that leads up along the meadow. From here it goes steeply upwards on well-trodden and in wet conditions very slippery paths until you reach an alpine meadow again. Here you keep to the right along again into a wooded area.

After a total of 1.5 km, the first bench with a beautiful view of the Almkogel invites you to take a short break. At km 2 you come to a signpost, which leads directly to the Hieslberg, which is reached after not quite 2.5km and 470hm and rewards a magnificent view of Großraming.

Then it goes down over serpentines through the forest. At a clearing you come to the end of a forest road with a Marterl. Continue downhill through the forest again to a clearing, keep left along the forest road to the Rießbauer. There you reach an asphalt road that leads down to the Lumplgraben.

The Almkogel is visible again on the right and the next destination, the Rotstein, is already visible on the left. Keep to the right here and walk exactly 2km back along the road in the direction of Großraming until a sign points to the Rotstein on the right. From there at the beginning on fort roads, then on forest paths to the summit of the Rotstein. Again, 2.6km and 400hm are overcome. From the summit of the Rotstein about 200m back to the signpost, turn left and down to Fortstraße. Then keep left, past a wayside shrine on the meadow, keep right and, in places, very steeply up to the summit of the Schafkogel. Return on the same path to the meadow, which you cross while keeping to the right.

From there it's all downhill towards Großraming, past a hunting lodge, down to the Mitterlangerbauer, past to the right until you're back on the road. Then it is only a few meters back to the starting point at the train station.

Tip:
In wet conditions, trail grödel spikes are highly recommended, as the trail up the Hieslberg in particular can be very muddy and slippery.

Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
