Description:

Embedded in the magnificent valley landscape are the towns of Schlierbach, Nußbach, Wartberg, Inzersdorf, Micheldorf, and the district capital Kirchdorf. The route through these towns is mostly very moderate and flat, only the ascent to Grillparz – a splendid viewpoint over the entire valley – and the path up to Magdalenaberg Church involve some elevation gain.

Each town has its own story to tell, so pilgrims are advised to take in and reflect on the diverse views and insights.

Directions:

Stage 3:

The third day stage starts in Micheldorf. The route now leads via the Stations of the Cross to Georgenberg and the baroque Georgiberg Church of the same name – a popular baptism and wedding church in Micheldorf, where the traditional Georgi Ride takes place every two years. On the way to Kirchdorf, the view is accompanied by the sight of Altpernstein Castle, which perches high on the rock above the Kremstal valley. The medieval castle is not open constantly; on certain Sundays, visitors can refresh themselves with drinks.

Upon arrival in Kirchdorf, pilgrims have access to the town center offering many gastronomy and retail businesses, a regional farm shop, and a tourism information office. Those wanting to continue directly to Schlierbach can follow the signposted route to Grillparz – one of the most beautiful and quiet viewpoints in the Kremstal – before following the last signs back to Schlierbach.

In Schlierbach, various hospitality establishments await you with regional delicacies as a pleasant conclusion. For loved ones at home, the famous B´schoad Binkerl is available to take away, a nice souvenir with various specialties from the region. We also recommend a personal devotion in the abbey church, a visit to the panoramic abbey, a reflection on the experiences and encounters along the way, and a hopeful "setting out" into daily life.
