Circular route with a length of 14.9 km and 720 m ascent over wonderful single-trails and lonely forest roads to the Zederbauernspitz and to Altpernstein Castle.
The route starts at the station in Micheldorf. We run towards Georgenberg, which is clearly visible slightly south of Micheldorf.
Steeply up the street, we come to a signpost, here we turn left into the forest. Wonderful single trails now lead us quickly upwards until we meet lonely forest roads on the opposite side. The highest point of the route is reached at the summit of the Zederbauer Spitz at 1082 meters. A small summit cross marks the forested peak. It then goes steeply downhill until we meet the forest road again, passing the Eustachius cross; from here the path leads downhill to Altpernstein Castle, which towers high above Micheldorf. We keep left and partly run down the asphalted road, shortcutting over field paths, passing through a ditch until we reach the outskirts of Micheldorf again. Across the town, we quickly return to our starting point.
Tip:Nice beer garden with a great view at Altpernstein Castle.
Equipment:The required equipment always depends on the respective route and weather conditions. Regarding food: this is very individual and it is recommended to bring more rather than less for equipment and food. A 5 km route in the valley requires less than a demanding route in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly moving or need to take a break, warming clothing is very important, for example.
